„ „Perception is Identity – Identity is Perception“ ist das erste Statement auf Regine Fürsts Homepage. Vielen Dank, Regine Fürst, vielen Dank „Neue Adresse – jede Woche ein Kunstwerk“ – BBK Wiesbaden und Sensor Wiesbaden für diese aktuelle künstlerische Position!
„Wahrnehmung“ und „Identität“ sind zentrale Kategorien zeitgenössischen Kunstschaffens – zeitgenössischen Seins.
In unserer Familie hat sich der Satz „Reality is perception“ durchgesetzt, wann immer wir unterschiedlicher Meinung sind. „Reality ist perception“, ein popularisiertes Derivat aus moderner Physik, Ethnologie und gender studies. Und wo ist die Identität? Für sich reklamiert zum Beispiel von den „Identitären“. Eine solche Identität will ich nicht.
Durch die Verbindung mit der „Wahrnehmung“ bindet sie Frau Fürst an ein handelndes Subjekt, an das individuelle Sein, an den Zustand, an die Zeitlichkeit. Da kann ich mitgehen.
So nähern wir uns auch dem extravaganten Objekt „Tracing Paper“ aus der Serie „Exi(s)t“. „Paper“ kann sowohl Akkusativobjekt als auch Subjekt von „tracing“ sein – es kann also entweder „das Papier verfolgen“ heißen oder „verfolgendes/nachzeichnendes/abpausendes Papier“. Ähnlich vielgestaltig und bedeutungsoffen sind die Materialien und Formen des doppelten Werkes, das aus Objekt und Zeichnung besteht. Zum Ei, zu den Farben Weiß und Rosa, zu manchen Formen habe ich Assoziationen – zu anderen muss ich mich neu verhalten. Vielleicht verfolge ich das Papier? Und nicht nur das Papier, sondern das ganze Werk? Oder ist es andersherum das Werk, das mich abpaust? Wer bin ich in Bezug auf dieses rosa beknospete Ei samt Schleierschwanz und buntem Schatten? Identity is perception – perception is identity.

„The blue hour is a quite short moment wich is in the middle of two different and opposite universes. Very early in the morning or late in the evening. It is something inbetween two things. I tried to convey the magic of the transition between day and night, with its cross-currents of euphoria and yearning, when melancholy and remembrance merge. It’s not dark, it’s not bright, it’s a sort of undefined limbo. It seems that the colours combine to one. I feel connected with this moment and tried to visualise my feelings in an installation which exists only this short time.“
„Die blaue Stunde ist ein ziemlich kurzer Moment, der sich inmitten zweier verschiedener und entgegengesetzter Universen befindet. Sehr früh am Morgen oder spät am Abend. Es ist etwas zwischen zwei Dingen. Ich versuchte, die Magie des Übergangs zwischen Tag und Nacht mit seinen Querströmungen von Euphorie und Sehnsucht zu vermitteln, wenn Melancholie und Erinnerung verschmelzen. Es ist nicht dunkel, es ist nicht hell, es ist eine Art undefinierte Schwebe. Es scheint, dass sich die Farben zu einem verbinden. Ich fühle mich mit diesem Moment verbunden und habe versucht, meine Gefühle in einer Installation zu visualisieren, die nur in dieser kurzen Zeit existiert“
